Criada em 1995, pelos mestres Jurandir, Cobra Mansa e Valmir, a Fundação Internacional de Capoeira Angola (FICA) realiza um trabalho de preservação, valorização e difusão da capoeira angola pelo mundo, unindo ações sociais e culturais para promover cidadania e desenvolvimento humano. No Brasil, as suas sedes principais concentram-se nas capitais de Belo Horizonte (MG), Salvador (BA) e Rio de Janeiro (RJ). A FICA também está presente em dez cidades dos EUA, no México, Costa Rica, Suécia, Alemanha, Dinamarca, Japão, Rússia e Moçambique.

Founded in 1995 by Mestres Jurandir, Cobra Mansa and Valmir, the mission of the International Capoeira Angola Foundation (ICAF) is to preserve, enhance and disseminate Capoeira Angola around the world, uniting social and cultural activities to promote global citizenship and human development. In Brazil, ICAF’s main headquarters are in the cities of Belo Horizonte (MG), Salvador (BA) and Rio de Janeiro (RJ). ICAF is also present in ten U.S. cities, as well as the countries of: Mexico, Costa Rica, Sweden, Italy, France, Denmark, Germany, Japan, Russia and Mozambique.

The International Capoeira Angola Foundation (ICAF) was founded in 1996, under the leadership of three mestres (masters), Mestre Cobra Mansa, Mestre Jurandir Nascimento and Mestre Valmir Damasceno, with a mission to maintain, promote and preserve the art and culture of Capoeira Angola. Dedicated to the preservation and dissemination of Capoeira Angola, the foundation established a documentation and audiovisual center that maintains an extensive archive research library pertaining to Capoeira Angola, and other related African diaspora studies. In addition, as part of its mission ICAF assists in the development of affiliate groups in Brazil and throughout the world.
