Salut tout le monde!

Nous sommes très heureux d’accueillir Mestre Silvinho de FICA Seattle durant la première fin de semaine d’octobre.

Inscrivez-le à vos agendas! Plus de détails sous peu.

One love,

Known for his tremendous work with children and most human approach to teaching, Mestre Silvinho just celebrated 30 years of Capoeira Angola this past August. He started capoeira with Mestre Rogerio, in Belo Horizonte, Brazil in 1986.

As Mestre Jurandir’s student, he was the leader of FICA BH for 8 years. During this time span, he taught for social programs created by the city council for the homeless and street kids, named Kids in the Park. There, he also lead a youth project teaching Afro-Brazilian music, drums, and dance known as “tambolele”.

Since 2004 he has been leading FICA Seattle, founded in 1997 by Mestre Jurandir, as well as the TESC Capoeira Angola Club at the Evergreen State College in Olympia, which was founded in 1998 by Evergreen students under Mestre Jurandir’s leadership. Mestre Silvinho currently oversees activities of the FICA study groups in Bellingham (WA) and Portland (OR).

Mestre Silvinho has dedicated time and energy teaching at middle and high schools in Seattle since 2004 while supporting the development of other FICA Groups in the USA. He has taken part and supported the development of ICAF African Brazilian Community Festivals in Seattle and Olympia. Across the US, Mestre Silvinho travels and holds capoeira conferences year-round.
